Modern Armor: Team workshop ux improvement

2023~2025

About Project

  • In order to enhance player game experience we focused on UX practices that are vital for several reasons below
  • Identify Usability Issues: help uncover usability problems that users may encounter. By evaluating the user interface and overall experience, auditors can pinpoint areas where users struggle, providing a roadmap for improvement.
  • Enhance User Satisfaction: By addressing the issues identified in an audit, companies can significantly enhance user satisfaction. A more intuitive and enjoyable user experience leads to happier users, which can improve retention rates and loyalty.
  • Improve Accessibility: often assess how accessible a product is to all users, including those with disabilities. Improving accessibility not only broadens your user base but also aligns with legal standards and ethical practices.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement. They allow teams to adapt to changing user preferences and technologies, ensuring the product remains competitive and relevant over time.
  • Benchmarking:Conducting audits creates a baseline for measuring improvements. By evaluating user experience periodically, businesses can track progress and set benchmarks for future releases.

UX Practices Goals

  • Enhanced Productivity: DImproving UX can streamline workflows and make systems easier to navigate. This can lead to increased efficiency and productivity, as employees spend less time struggling with tools and more time focusing on their tasks.
  • Reduced Training Time: Good UX design minimizes the need for extensive training. If employees can easily understand and use the systems in place, onboarding becomes quicker and less resource-intensive.
  • Encourages Innovation When employees have the right tools and a positive environment to work in, they're more likely to feel empowered to innovate and contribute new ideas that can benefit the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: involve collaboration between designers, developers, marketers, and product managers, fostering better alignment on user needs and goals across teams.

Research

User research is essential for understanding our player and improving game UX. Here are several effective methods Iemploy to gather insights:
  • User Interviews:
    - Description: Conduct one-on-one interviews with current or potential users.
    - Purpose: Gain in-depth insights into their needs, motivations, and pain points related to your product.
  • Surveys and Questionnaires:
    - Description: Create online surveys to reach a larger audience.
    - Purpose: Collect quantitative data on user preferences, satisfaction levels, and demographics.
  • Usability Testing:
    - Description: Observe users as they interact with your product to complete specific tasks.
    - Purpose: Identify usability issues and understand user behavior in real-time.
  • Card Sorting:
    - Description: Ask users to organize content or features into categories that make sense to them.
    - Purpose: Understand user mental models and improve information.
  • Focus Groups:
    - Description: Bring together a diverse group of users to discuss their experiences with your product.
    - Purpose: Generate qualitative feedback and ideas about features or improvements.
  • Analytics Review:
    - Description: Analyze data from user interactions.
    - Purpose: Identify patterns in user behavior, such as which features are most used or where users drop off.
  • User Journey Mapping:
    - Description: Create visual representations of the user’s experience from initial contact to final interaction with your product.
    - Purpose: Identify pain points and emotions at each stage of the user's journey.f.

Flow, Wireframe and Prototype

When creating UX flows and wireframes, it's essential to focus on several key aspects to ensure an effective user experience. Here’s a breakdown of what I concentrate on for each stage:
  • User Goals and Tasks : Begin by identifying the primary goals and tasks of your users. What are they trying to achieve with your product? Write scenarios that represent different user journeys to visualize how users will interact with the product.
  • Step-by-Step User Journey : Map out each step the user needs to take to complete their tasks. Ensure the flow is logical and intuitive. Identify any decision points where users must make choices, and ensure the paths are clear for each option.
  • Layout and Hierarchy : Focus on the layout and arrangement of key elements on the screen. Establish a clear visual hierarchy to guide users' attention. Determine which content or features are most important and ensure they are prominently placed.
  • Interactivity Elements : Include buttons, forms, and other interactive elements in your wireframe. Indicate how these elements will function (e.g., hover effects, dropdowns). Use labels and annotations to clarify the purpose of each element, which will be helpful for developers and stakeholders.
